The opening race of the season took place at the Bahrain International Circuit on Saturday, 2 March, and not on the Sunday as usual, due to the knock-on effect of the holy month of Ramadan starting on Sunday, 10 March.
As reported by The South African website, reigning world champion Max Verstappen got the defence of his title off to the perfect start in Bahrain when he led home Red Bull team-mate Sergio Perez.
The same will apply therefore next weekend when the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix at the Jeddah Corniche Circuit takes place on Saturday, 9 March.
