Letter volume declines have reduced the demand for stamps significantly

Despite declining letter volumes, a proposed amendment to the Post Office Act will mandate the creation of a Stamp Advisory Committee to help the Post Office board select stamp design proposals.

The South African Post Office Amendment Bill, which was before the Department of Communication and Digital Technologies (DCDT) parliamentary portfolio committee this week, contains provisions that will mandate the recreation of the stamp committee, if passed.
