The 38-year-old, who was born and raised in Bolton, said he has had his “fair share of winnings recently”, and is hoping to “bring laughter to the show”.
Here’s everything you need to know about him.
As the lead guitarist and vocalist for the pop-rock group McFly, he has co-written and sung a number of successful songs that have achieved success and garnered accolades.
He has demonstrated his abilities on a variety of instruments, including drums and harmonica, and produced songs for both his own band and other musicians.
Furthermore, he has made appearances on film as a mentor and actor, most notably as a coach on The Voice Kids, where he imparts his knowledge and enthusiasm to young, aspiring vocalists.
But how did it all start?
Since he and his sister Vicky were interested in music and played a variety of instruments, Jones began his musical career at an early age.
He met Tom Fletcher when auditioning for the boy band V while he was a music student at Bury College. After they began composing songs together, they formed a new band with Busted’s James Bourne.
They called their band McFly, after the character from Back to the Future, and posted an advert to attract Poynter and Harry Judd.
In 2004, Busted helped launch McFly by inviting them to tour with them. With multiple number one songs and accolades, McFly quickly rose to prominence in the UK.

Danny Jones and his anxiety
The musician previously talked about his struggle with anxiety in an interview with The Bolton News.
“At times it was so horrible,” Jones stated, revealing that he hadn’t experienced an anxiety attack since 2013.
“I experienced claustrophobia, coming out in cold sweats, feeling a band tightening around my chest and worrying I was having a heart attack.
“It’s so scary and I’ve felt like I was dying on occasions. You can’t believe your body can do that to you. I was also plagued with dark thoughts I couldn’t control.”
