Azimio Executive Director Raphael Tuju has hinted at fleeing the country if Deputy President William Ruto wins the August 9 Presidential election.
Speaking to Weru TV, the former Jubilee Party secretary general cited his strained relationship with the DP as the main reason for seeking refuge abroad.
“I think someone like DCI boss (George) Kinoti and Raphael Tuju will seek to relocate to another country. In fact, Kinoti will be forced into exile.
“I can say that without risk of contradiction,” he claimed.

Tuju, who served as Cabinet Secretary without portfolio under President Uhuru Kenyatta, also defended Kinoti who has faced criticism over the arrest of three Venezuelan nationals at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA).
Kinoti was accused of harassing the information technology experts contracted by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to aid it in conducting elections.
IEBC chairperson, Wafula Chebukati, argued that the three are employees of Smartmatic, the electronic voting company tasked with supplying Kiems kits in the country
Tuju maintained that Kinoti was executing his duties and shouldn’t be coerced into relenting.
“We are safe in this country because of people like Kinoti and his team,” Tuju maintained, accusing Ruto of overstepping his mandate by responding to a letter that Kinoti had addressed to IEBC chairperson Wafula Chebukati.
“We know some commissioners have issues, but we must help build our institutions, and we do not want to tear it apart. In case of issues, it is the work of Kinoti to find out,” he added.
The former KTN journalist further dispelled reports that President Uhuru would influence decisions if Azimio la Umoja presidential candidate Raila Odinga wins the August 9 polls.
Tuju likened Raila’s presidency to that of late former President Mwai Kibaki, who would focus on leaving a development legacy and changing the country’s economic prospects.
