Uruguay have beaten Ghana once again in the FIFA World Cup.
The Black Stars got a little retribution against the Uruguayan but it was not enough to send them through to the round of 16.
#URUGHA The only joy in this is the teary face of #Suarez. The Ayews did what they could. Kudus shined. Otto Addo didn’t have 🏀 s to bench Baba Rahman. nor #TeamGhana is against Ghanaians at Kotoka pic.twitter.com/bt5SzuaelX

Ghana lost to Uruguay in the quarterfinal of the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.
Luis Suarez was at the heart of that painful defeat in South Africa after he handled the ball with hand in the dying minutes of the match to deny Ghana a historic win. A penalty was awarded for Ghana in that match 12 years ago in the extra time but Asamoah Gyan missed that vital penalty.
Ghanaians were looking forward to a revenge against the Uruguayans in their Group H encounter at the FIFA World Cup in Qatar but the match ended 2 – 0 in favor of Uruguay. In a de ja vu manner, Ghana were awarded penalty in the first half of the December 2, 2022 match but captain Andre Ayew missed that all important penalty.
A win would have send Ghana to the round of 16 but that was not meant to be. Both Uruguay and Ghana dropped out of the tournament as South Korea qualified ahead of Uruguay despite both teams having points each.
