Bonn – The theme of this year’s World Space Forum is “Sustainable Space for Sustainability on Earth”. The conference is being organised by the German Space Agency at DLR on behalf of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action together with the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs (UNOOSA). A press release states: “With growing technological innovation, space exploration serves as a key provider of applications for life on Earth. Space tools enable and drive sustainable development by providing essential data for climate action, disaster management and monitoring progress on global commitments in sustainable development goals.” The event series seeks to strengthen partnerships and advance the global community’s ongoing dialogue on a wide range of space issues. There will also be a focus on the peaceful utilisation of space and the regulatory issues this involves. Some 300 guests from politics, industry and science are expected to attend.
