The James Harden saga continues to be at the forefront of the headlines for the Philadelphia 76ers as it remains unresolved with the offseason approaching its midpoint. The former MVP leaving the nest is expected to be more likely than not, but despite the aligned forecasts of his exit, some reports point to the franchise being more than amenable to retaining him.
That being said, it makes a lot of sense for the 76ers to keep being proactive on the transaction table in hopes of finding an offer they can get behind. After all, Harden will be entering the final year of his deal and is a massive flight risk. At worst, the team could very well lose him for nothing in next year’s free agency.
The 76ers are still likely to trade James Harden this offseason
Despite Harden’s contract status, Philadelphia has been rumored to have imposed a very high price tag on the 10-time All-Star. Furthermore, the 76ers brass is still working to woo him into staying with General Manager Daryl Morey trying to convince him to stay. At this point, anything can happen, though a trade eventually transpiring would be the smarter bet at this juncture.
Alas, as expected, numerous trade ideas involving James Harden have popped up on the web. In this piece, we evaluate a wild scenario in which the Sixers send the superstar to a rival team that could send shockwaves around the league if it happens.
