In Russell Wilson’s return to Seattle, the Seahawks lead the visiting Denver Broncos at halftime by a score of 17-13.
Wilson’s successor, Geno Smith, played a nearly perfect half of football, completing 17 of 18 passes for 164 yards and two touchdowns to stake his team to a lead. Smith torched a Denver secondary that had been highly touted coming into the season, leading his team to a score on three of its four drives — with the only blemish coming on a failed fourth-down attempt deep inside Broncos territory. The Broncos managed a score on multiple drives as well, with their touchdown coming courtesy of a 67-yard grab by Jerry Jeudy, who burned fourth-round rookie Coby Bryant down the sideline and broke a couple tackles on his way to the end zone.
Can the Seahawks hang on and pull off the upset, or will Wilson stage yet another comeback in his former home stadium? We’ll find out soon enough. Keep it locked in to our live blog throughout the second half as we update you with stats, scores, and highlights.
