President Muhammadu Buhari has presented Nigeria’s highest national honour to the world’s fastest female hurdler.
Oluwatobiloba Amusun popularly known as Tobi Amusun received the Order of the Niger (OON) honour from President Buhari on Thursday, September 15, 2022.
Tobi Amusun, aged 25, holds the World Champion, the Diamond League and the Commonwealth Champion medal. She holds the world record of 12.12 seconds and the Commonwealth record of 12.29 seconds.
Special Assistant to President Buhari, digital communications, Bashir Ahmad, in a Tweet sighted by www.africanentertainment.com, said: “Our Amazon, Tobi Amosun, Adijat Olarinoye and other Nigerian medalists at the 2022 Commonwealth and World Athletics, have just been conferred with various National Honors. The attached video is Amosun receiving the Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON) from President @MBuhari.”
