Dennis Itumbi Apologises to Kenya Kwanza Bloggers Who Were Denied Entry to State House: “I’m Sincerely Sorry”

• Blogger Dennis Itumbi admitted that that was out of order, promising to correct the missteps going forward
• In the lead-up to the presidential election, using the online tools, Itumbi played an integral part in marshalling support for President William Ruto

President William Ruto’s chief social media activist Dennis Itumbi has begged for clemency from the online team he led in advancing the Hustler Nation campaign.

A host of bloggers have expressed their disappointment after they were sidelined in the post-inauguration State House fete arrangements.

Itumbi: We’ll correct the missteps

Sharing in their frustrations, Itumbi admitted to some gaffes having occurred but promised to align everything in the near future.

“I am sincerely sorry, dear Hustler Nation team. You are right, you no longer need to fight to access the benefits and privileges of the setting you literally sacrificed for. It is also true that we significantly failed on that front. I hear you all. I salute you for bringing it up. We will falter and stumble sometimes; that is life. But we will rise and correct our steps; that is strength,” said Itumbi.

Itumbi played an integral part in Ruto’s campaign that led to his election as Kenya’s fifth president.

He led a robust team that succeeded in advancing the hustlers and bottom-up agenda with which their principal sought the highest office in the land.

At the centre of Ruto’s campaign was the empowerment of lowly Kenyans, who form the majority of the country’s populace.

Employment of propaganda

Propaganda, albeit positive, was some of the tools the team put into use, Itumbi once said.

During a show on NTV, on Friday, August 26, Itumbi stated that he doesn’t have an interest in negative propaganda.

He explained that, just like any media practitioner, he had made mistakes and ended up spreading false information.

“Do I engage in propaganda? If you look at it from a book level, then it’s yes. However, if your question is on negative propaganda, I’ve no interest in it. Like any other publisher in journalism, there is an opportunity that sometimes you may make mistakes and I have made those mistakes,” said Itumbi.
