Elizabeth Chambers says her estranged husband Armie Hammer is “focused on his healing” amid sexual assault allegations, a damning three-part documentary, and their divorce.
“Armie has been focused on his healing,” Chambers, 40, told E! News in her most candid interview yet. “There’s the oxygen mask theory: You can’t really take care of someone until you are taken care of. There’s a reason on the plane they say, ‘Secure your own mask before helping others.’ He has been very busy securing his own mask. My mask has been secured, [the kids’] masks are on, so right now it’s really been a lot about focusing on them, protecting them.”
Chambers and Hammer, 36, started dating in 2008 and wed in 2010. They share two children – Harper, seven, and Ford, five – and announced their split in 2020. In 2021, Hammer was accused of sexual assault, and allegedly sending multiple women graphic text messages about his sexual fantasies, which included mutilation, cannibalism and rape. Hammer’s lawyers have denied all allegations repeatedly.

Months later, he reportedly checked into a rehabilitation facility for sexual and substance issues, and by December 2021, he had checked out.
Chambers said that throughout Hammer working on himself, she’s “here to support that process” so he can be a good parent.
”It’s going to make him the best father, the best person he can be. At the end of the day, that’s the goal,” Chambers said. “We’re in constant communication and all that matters is that he is the best dad for our children. Obviously he processes everything else that he’s dealing with personally – and that’s his own journey now.”
Chambers said the former couple’s divorce is not finalised, however, they are “in a really great place.”

”We talk all the time,” she said. “We’re committed fully and wholly to our children, and to being together as much as possible in a non-romantic way for our kids. Kids need their mum; kids need their dad. So there’s nothing we won’t do.”
At the same time, Chambers is aware of the media and public scrutiny surrounding Hammer, especially in the wake of Discovery+’s House of Hammer documentary series, which premiered in early September.
In the documentary, multiple women came forward with allegations surrounding Hammer. Courtney Vucekovich claimed she was in a relationship with Hammer from late 2019 to September 2020, and alleged Hammer told her he and Chambers had been separated for almost two years. She also claimed he pressured her into taking part in his BDSM fantasies.
Julia Morrison, meanwhile, alleged that Hammer contacted her on social media as he was interested in a photo series she had done, which showed her being choked. Paige Lorenze’s 2021 YouTube video was also revisited in the documentary, which included allegations of cannibalism.

Chambers said that although she did not plan on watching House of Hammer, she ended up watching it “with my support system around me” while her kids were at school.
”It was obviously heartbreaking on so many levels and very painful,” she said. “But at the same time, it exists. The past is the past and all we can do is take this as a moment to learn and listen, and hopefully process and heal in every capacity.”
”I consider myself a feminist and stand in solidarity with anyone who has been a victim of any sort and hope they find healing,” Chambers said. “I’m not being here, like, ‘My life is amazing,’ because it’s been hell for a long time.”
Chambers, however, is moving on from the hurt, speaking briefly about her relationship with wellness therapist Ricardas Kazinec.
“You go from feeling your heart is shattered in nine million pieces, and it’s wrapped in every kind of cast and gauze, and nothing can touch it, to being like, ‘OK, I think I can love and be loved again,'” she said. “So, I am very happy.”
