Brexit Party leader Nigel Farage says Australian politicians like One Nation leader Pauline Hanson and Opposition leader Peter Dutton are “important voices” in politics.
“I’m sure that Peter Dutton is a very, very decent fellow – shame he can’t smile a bit more,” he told Sky News host Paul Murray.
“If we’re going to retake ground – and this is the point – as opposed to just holding the line grimly, we’re going to be some happy warriors.”
Mr Farage said conservatives needed “inspiration” and “excitement” to entice young people.
“I’m not being critical of Peter Dutton, he’s a very decent man, but we need more people out there with guts, courage, prepared to take the stick,” he said.
