Agra Development Authority (ADA) has issued a decree to stop commercial activities happening within 500 meters of the Taj Mahal. Traders have been given time till October 17 to stop business activities.
After this, action will be taken by the ADA to stop the commercial activities happening in the area.
On September 26, the Supreme Court ordered the closure of commercial activities within 500 meters of the Taj Mahal on a PIL filed by the Taj Western Gate Market Association.
The Supreme Court had heard the PIL in MC Mehta Vs the Union of India. In compliance with the order, the ADA had started the survey. ADA Vice President Chichit Gaur had said on Friday to mark business activities in a week.
On Saturday, the ADA issued an order for people involved in business activities within a radius of 500 meters of the Taj Mahal.
In this, citing the order of the Supreme Court, it has been asked to stop business activities till October 17. After this, business activities will be stopped by force by the administration and police in case of contempt of the order of the Supreme Court.
ADA Vice President Chichit Gaur said that we are giving time till October 17 to the people doing business within 500 meters of the Taj Mahal to stop business activities. After this, action will be taken to stop business activities there.
