Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida will likely visit Australia to meet his counterpart Anthony Albanese later this month, public broadcaster NHK reports.
They are expected to confirm cooperation between the two nations over issues such as security, according to the report.
Mr Albanese met with Mr Kishida in Tokyo when he attended last month’s funeral service for assassinated former Japanese prime minister Shinzo Abe.
