Torrential rain and thunderstorms are expected to dissipate today and into Monday, but not before major flooding across New South Wales and parts of Queensland.
Anyone at the Western Plains Tourist Park in Dubbo is being warned to evacuate now, as the area is being inundated by floodwater.
An evacuation centre has been set up at Dubbo Showground.
The city has recorded its wettest year in almost half a century, receiving about 882 millimetres.
The Bureau of Meteorology has signalled another rain band is expected to hit the east coast on Wednesday.
