Some of the countries that “drifted into alignment” with Russian President Vladimir Putin are starting to “back away from the table,” says retired Australian Army General Gus McLachlan.
The former Major-General said Putin’s recent attacks on the Ukrainian capital of Kyiv were a sign of “a desperate leader”.
“This is a period where Putin is now putting a really significant red line in the sand,” he told Sky News Australia.
