Inquiries underway after body found in Waikato River

Police say they’re making inquiries about a body found in the Waikato River on Thursday.

Officers were called after a person made the discovery at 2.30pm near Driver Road West in Ngāruawāhia.

Police said they will be unable to confirm the dead person’s identity until a formal process has been completed.
