Watch live: Silver Scroll awards 2022 winners to be announced

The 2022 APRA Silver Scroll Awards ceremony, celebrating Aotearoa’s songwriters and composers, is underway tonight at Auckland’s Spark Arena.

This is the first full-scale event in three years after the Covid-19 pandemic disrupted plans for the event.

Members of APRA AMCOS, which takes care of musical royalities, are able to vote in the awards.

A different musical director takes care of the performances each year – this year it’s Rob Ruha and Cilla Ruha.

In the past, performances have often honoured the final five nominees’ songs, with Delaney Davidson covering BENEE’s ‘Glitter’ and metal band Alien Weaponary covering Troy Kingi’s ‘Mighty Invader’ in 2020.

The ceremony will also reveal the winners for the APRA Maioha Award and APRA’s music on screen awards.
