The 11-20 Orlando Magic, led by rookie Paolo Banchero is one of the hottest teams in the NBA. After successfully defeating the Boston Celtics in back-to-back games, the young team has a winning streak of six games. Taking down the team with the best record in the NBA twice is a confidence booster, but Banchero and the Magic want more respect from the rest of the league.
“We just want to earn the respect of the league,” Banchero told reporters. “It’s clear that a lot of people still don’t respect us. We’re just going to go out game by game and lock in, and eventually, it’ll be earned. Until then, we’re going to keep proving people wrong.”
Retired Celtics guard Eddie House is someone who isn’t giving the Magic much respect. After Boston lost the first meeting to Orlando, House directed some unpleasant comments towards the #1 picks team.
Two consecutive wins over Boston might not change House’s thoughts immediately, but it’s a good start.
Next, Banchero and the Magic travel to face Trae Young and the Atlanta Hawks.
