Is Cher engaged again? The 76-year-old sparks rumours after posting ring image

Cher has posted a photo of a ring with a sizeable rock on Twitter, sparking rumours the 76-year-old may be engaged to her partner Alexander AJ Edwards.

The singer posted a photo of the ring on Sunday (local time). The piece of jewellery was still in the box, rather than on a finger, prompting her followers to question whether this was an engagement announcement or something else.

“There are no words, Alexander AR,” she tweeted. The post had more than 40,000 likes and close to 1500 comments on Monday afternoon.

Followers congratulated the star on Twitter, and asked if wedding bells were in her future.

”Which finger will this go on?” one person tweeted, while another asked: “Are you getting engaged or is this purely a ‘I’m Head Over Heels Crazy About You’ ring?”

Cher posted the same photo again, but kept her followers in the dark about what exactly the ring was for.

Cher appeared to confirm it was Edwards holding the box, though, tweeting: “I posted this cause his nails are so cool”.

Earlier this month the Believe singer took to Twitter to announce her mother Georgia Holt had died, aged 96.

The 76-year-old’s most recent marriage was to Gregg Allman from 1975 until 1979. She married the rock star just days after her divorce to Sonny Bono had been finalised, who she wed in 1964.

She has previously dated major stars such as Tom Cruise, Gene Simmons and Val Kilmer.
