Former Chief Agent for Azimio la Umoja Coalition party Saitabao Ole Kanchory, on Wednesday, December 28, threatened to sue Citizen TV news anchor Trevor Ombija for his comments in an interview with Raila Odinga.
Kanchory took to his official Twitter account to announce his notice of intent to sue the journalist whom he accuse of misquoting him on why the party lost in the August 9, General Elections.
Trevor had referred to Kanchory’s comments in a question posed to Raila during the interview on Citizen TV, in which he claimed the chief party agent said the fifth-time presidential candidate lost because of the party’s “disorganized campaigns and agents not being paid”.

In a quick rejoinder, Kanjory demanded an apology from the prime-time news anchor for failure to which he would press charges against him.
“Unless I receive a proportionate apology in 7 days, I’m suing,” Kanchory asserted.
Kanchory included a short clip of Trevor’s question to his party leader that he disagrees with in his tweet that sounded a warning to the Royal Media Services journalist.
In response to the question, Raila refuted the claims of his campaigns being disorganized saying, on the contrary, they were among the best and well-coordinated.
Raila, further alleged, that he knows exactly what went wrong and where. He accused the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) Chairman Wafula Chebukati of bangling the elections.
However, the Royal Media Services journalist was unavailable for a comment when Kenyans.co.ke tried to reach him.
The lawyer led a team that represented Raila Odinga at the national tallying centre in Bomas during the elections.
Kanchory had earlier threatened to spill the beans on why Raila lost the presidential election.
This is the second time in two months that Trever Ombija is facing threats of being sued after former model Emma Too threatened to sue him over noise pollution.
In November Trevor found himself on the defence after one of the neighbours to his high-end restaurant threatened to sue him over noise pollution.
