Building an NBA team isn’t just about aggregating talent. You’ve also got to establish an identity.
Others call it a culture. Either way, you know what we’re talking about. When people bring up your team, you want them to be able to know what makes them unique immediately.
Perhaps no team prides itself in its culture like the Miami Heat. This team is known for its work ethic. If you’re not willing to put in the hours, you probably won’t find a place in South Beach until you retire.
In 2022-23, that culture isn’t paying off how Miami would like it to. At 19-18, they’re having an underwhelming season.
The Heat may benefit from a trade. With that said, anyone they’re bringing in would have to fit their culture.
Here’s a deal that has them targeting such a player by landing Jarred Vanderbilt of the Utah Jazz.
