Lage sends ‘revenge’ message
Wolves boss Bruno Lage has insisted his side are not looking for “revenge” in tonight’s Premier League clash with Arsenal.
The Gunners beat the Midlands-based side a couple of weeks ago, with the two teams set to go head-to-head again this evening in a match that could have huge implications in the race for a top four spot.
However, Lage has insisted Wolves are not out looking for revenge as they look to make amends at the Emirates Stadium.
“It’s not about revenge,” he said. “After the game is finished, we shake hands and congratulate them because they won, and move on.
“They did what they did. They held on with 10 men, they closed their goal and they celebrated like us. If I was in their place I would do the same. Maybe I would be more calm to celebrate, but we don’t need to talk to the players about that.
“I think it was a good game. I think we played better against Arsenal than against Leicester. We need to play our game against a strong team.”
Arteta issues contract update
Mikel Arteta has insisted he is “happy” at Arsenal with the Gunners boss now in his final 18 months of his contract at the Emirates Stadium.
football.london understands that the north London club are set to offer Arteta an extension on his deal at the end of the season, with the Spaniard clearly satisfied with his job role at the moment.
“It is just that I am really happy here and my aim is to build with the club a winning team that when we watch it feels identifiable and that can transmit what we want football-wise and as an organisation.
“I am happy with the direction we’re taking, but I’m not happy with where we are that is for sure because we want to be competing and challenging with the best teams in this league in consecutive seasons.”

Arteta opens door to Wilshere return
Arsenal manager Arteta has opened the door to Jack Wilshere returning to the club in the future as a coach.
The 30-year-old midfielder signed a short term deal with Danish club Aarhus over the weekend as he aims to get his footballing career back on track.
Wilshere will, though, return to the Gunners in the future, Arteta confirmed on Wednesday morning.
He said: “First of all, thanks for all the time he has been with us. It has been an absolute pleasure to have him back, to enjoy watching him play again and having him around, the inspiration he is for all of the young people.
“And hopefully we have helped him a bit because he had some doubts whether to start coaching or to continue playing.
“Will he return to Arsenal in a coaching capacity? 100%. Everybody at the club will be willing to open the doors for him and try to find a role for him that can work for everybody.
“I think that will happen naturally in the future.”
