Every rebuilding NBA team needs its veterans. Of course, they don’t just need any veterans. They need the right ones.
A veteran sulking because the team isn’t winning games, or because they aren’t playing, can be a negative influence on a locker room.
Instead, teams need veterans who are excited to take on a mentorship role. If they have a place in the team’s rotation, that’s even better.
That way, they can teach them how to play on the court.
The Orlando Magic could probably use a veteran. Specifically, a veteran point guard would help them develop their platoon of enticing young floor generals.
Could Derrick Rose of the New York Knicks be that veteran?
