Fans watching ESPN’s coverage have seen AFL legend and former St Kilda skipper Nick Riewoldt on the panel.
The Saints legend recently moved to Texas with his American-born wife and children, and was thrilled when he was contacted by ESPN “out of the blue” to join for this year’s Super Bowl coverage.
Riewoldt, who was teammates with Eagles punter Arryn Siposs at St Kilda, explained how the opportunity came about.
“It’s on another level, there’s a huge vibe, huge buzz in town,” Riewoldt told Triple M’s The Rush Hour with JB and Billy.
“I might be the most excited person in Phoenix at the moment.”
“I just couldn’t believe the fact that he (Siposs) was part of the Super Bowl.
“He was really optimistic that he was going to get up to play. It’s an amazing story and I just hope he goes well.”
