Less than two weeks after starting his professional hockey career, ex-Michigan Tech forward Brian Halonen was named a CCM/AHCA All-American.
Halonen, who scored 53 goals and 105 points in 139 games with Michigan Tech, had signed an entry-level NHL contract with the New Jersey Devils on March 28.
Halonen was also named a Hobey Baker top 10 finalist, and was a All-CCHA First Team selection.
Halonen scored 21 goals and 23 assists this season with the Huskies. He became the 67th player in Huskies history to surpass 100 career points.
Halonen scored his first professional goal on April 2. It’s his only point in five games for the Devils’ AHL affiliate Utica Comets.
