Police are searching for a killer after a man was stabbed to death in the shadow of St Paul’s Cathedral in Central London late on Sunday night (May 1). The man was found seriously injured after City of London Police were called to the scene on Gresham Street at 11.30pm last night.
The man was treated by paramedics at the scene and given CPR before being rushed by ambulance to Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel where he sadly died of his injuries.
The area around the street has since been cordoned off as forensics teams investigate and a blue car has also been cordoned off outside the Lord Raglan pub at the top of Gresham Street.
The identity and age of the victim is not yet known and police have not made any arrests, the investigation ongoing.
In a statement Assistant Commissioner Pete O’Doherty, from the City of London Police, said: “City of London Police were called to reports of a stabbing in Gresham Street, EC2V, at 11.30pm on May 1.
“Officers found a man suffering from serious injuries and carried out CPR at the scene before he was taken to the Royal London Hospital where he later sadly died. Enquiries are ongoing and no arrests have been made at this time.”
