Solomon Islands’ High Commissioner to Australia Robert Sisilo has suggested the relationship between the two nations can be resolved through simple communication and the expansion of a successful government scheme.
Mr Sisilo flagged Honiara and Beijing were strengthening their partnership after the leaders agreed to a security pact last month on maintaining social order, protecting people’s safety, aid and combating natural disasters.
He has stressed the Solomon Islands is not turning its back on Australia – saying the nation has “always been a neighbour” – while reaffirming ties.
