The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are well-known for keeping parts of their private lives under wraps, especially when it comes to raising their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis. It is thought that they are trying to provide them with the most normal childhood possible.
The couple split their time with their children between their London home of Kensington Palace and their country home of Anmer Hall in Norfolk. The family of five also have access to a three-bedroom cottage called Tam-Na-Ghar on the Balmoral Estate in Scotland.
While the popular royal couple have shown their normality time and time again, there is one particular way they do it that The Queen is said to not understand.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge broke the mould with their style of parenting and quickly set a precedent.
Rather than welcome swarms of photographers into their home and make their children take part in organised photo calls, Catherine takes their official birthday pictures herself and releases them onto social media.
A source previously told The Sun : “Kate has always wanted the children to live in the real world. She and William don’t want them to live in a gilded bubble. They want them to grow up having the same experiences as other kids.”
The source added: “Kate is mindful of how much William loved his mother. She was very unstuffy and wanted William and Harry to fit in with their school friends and experience normality. That’s the baton she handed to Kate.”
So when it comes to the family’s time at home, there is one thing the couple are said to do that The Queen “cannot stand”.
A source told The Express : “When the Queen visited the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge at Anmer Hall for the first time, she couldn’t get her head around the fact that the kitchen is the main base for them. For the Queen, she can’t stand that, because she is used to having a set room for that sort of thing.”
Having the kitchen as their main base isn’t the only normal home habit The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge enjoy doing. According to a close friend of the Duchess of Cambridge, Prince William always brings his wife a drink once Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis have gone to bed.
The source revealed: “William will bring Kate a gin and tonic. They look after each other, but in different ways.”
