Kyiv (dpa) – Germany’s Vice Chancellor Robert Habeck has travelled to Ukraine with a small delegation of German business representatives. The trip will focus on reconstruction of Ukraine, which is being attacked by Russia, and cooperation in the energy sector. Ukraine is to be sent a clear sign of solidarity, Habeck told the Tagesschau news programme when he arrived at the train station in Kyiv. The president of the Federation of German Industries (BDI), Siegfried Russwurm, who is accompanying Habeck, described the trip as a “signal to Ukrainians that the German industry is also standing by them”. Many German companies are still active in Ukraine.
