A selection of paintings by London-based artist Cara Nahaul. Nahaul received her BA (Hons) in Fine Art and History of Art at Goldsmiths University, London and MFA at Parsons The New School for Design, New York. Taking inspiration from her early childhood visits to Malaysia and Mauritius, Nahaul’s practice explores how landscapes and interiors can become sites to reflect on memory, family and culture. Her vibrant paintings range from scenes of quiet domestic interiors to idyllic tropical coastlines, and allude to a personal and psychological undercurrent that quietly reverberates throughout. Through this, Nahaul invites viewers to imagine how they might mine, reconstruct and reflect upon their own personal histories and heritage. See more images below. Photographer credit: Peter Mallet.
