Lesedi Kapinga, a former Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder, passed up Kaizer Chiefs in favour of Orlando Pirates in order to increase his chances of winning championships.
That is the story his agent Moses Mudau told Isolezwe.

Soweto powerhouses Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates were among the teams interested in the midfielder’s services, but the 28-year-old Bafana international chose to join the Sea Robbers.
Moses Mudau, the man’s representative, has finally clarified why his client chose the agreement with the Buccaneers over the one with Amakhosi.

“Kapinga still wants to win trophies. So, we sat down and looked at Pirates and the fact that they will be playing in the Caf Champions League and they also want to win the league next season,” Mudau told Isolezwe.
“In addition, Pirates have a strong squad which can enable Kapinga to achieve his goals with the addition of his quality. Other clubs put good offers on the table but we thought Pirates is the best club to help the player achieve his goals.”

Belief in the player
Mudau went on to provide a second explanation for the player’s choice to sign with the Orlando Pirates over Kaizer Chiefs.
“I won’t doubt him and I respect his talent. I wish other people can also respect his talent. Pirates have wanted Kapinga for a long time, they didn’t start now. I have no doubt that he will produce the goods there.”
Just five PSL games and four Caf Champions League games were played by Kapinga the previous season.
He is anticipated to receive additional chances to prove himself at Pirates. Bucs will be defending their Cup titles and attempting to challenge Sundowns for the PSL championship.
Orlando Pirates’ supporters have every cause to be upbeat, particularly given their team’s strong preseason performance and recent additions.
