We don’t ‘accept’ Sundowns’ goal – Steve Komphela

Steve Komphela has opened up on the goal Mamelodi Sundowns scored against his Swallows side.

The Brazilians welcomed Swallows to the Lucas Moripe Stadium on Saturday afternoon for their MTN8 quarterfinal clash.

It took a solitary Themba Zwane strike to seperate things in the capital city, a goal that appeared to have been offside!

Former Sundowns coach Steve Komphela has since opened up on the contentious goal that ended his side’s MTN8 hopes.

“I don’t know how many of us had the privilege of looking at the visuals, because, to a certain extent, you don’t accept it as a goal, per se. Could it have been offside? You take it and go and the lessons we take out of this is not a loss.” – Komphela said as quoted by IdiskiTimes.

“It’s a character that was displayed by the team, we’ll go back, knuckle down, get into the third match of the league, with this character we got from this match.”

“We are indeed fortunate to have such an intelligent footballer at our club. Having him alongside other exciting and intelligent players is a privilege, as it is a case of iron sharpening iron.”
