Open Doors Day at the Federal Government

Berlin (d.de/dpa) – This weekend, the Chancellery, Federal Government ministries and the Federal Press Office once again welcomed visitors to the Federal Government Open Doors Day in Berlin. Members of the public got to look behind the scenes and talk to members of the government. In the spirit of open and transparent democracy, members of the public were invited to find out about a wide range of aspects of Federal Government work and visit places which are normally not accessible – including government cars and helicopters. Staff in government ministries, the Chancellery and the Federal Press Office were on hand for questions and conversations. Members of the public got to enjoy exhibitions, children’s programmes and tours of historic government buildings. Senior figures were available for questions and photo requests, including Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz, Head of the Chancellery Federal Minister Wolfgang Schmidt, and Federal Ministers Svenja Schulze, Steffi Lemke, Annalena Baerbock, Marco Buschmann and Hubertus Heil, as well as the Head of Germany’s Foreign Intelligence Service Bruno Kahl.
