Sky Sports have unveiled their full selection of Sky Bet Championship matches for live broadcast in August 2022.
As already been confirmed, Sky have selected Huddersfield’s home clash against Burnley as the opening match of the season, which will take place on Friday 29 July at 8pm BST UK Time as the Terriers look to begin life after Carlos Corberan on a high following his resignation.
Sky will also air West Bromwich Albion and Coventry City’s trips to Middlesbrough and Sunderland on 30 and 31 July respectively, with the opening weekend action concluding at Vicarage Road as Watford host Sheffield United on Monday 1 August.
Norwich’s home clash against Wigan will open the second round of the season with kick-off at Carrow Road on Saturday 6 August moved to 12:30pm, whilst West Brom will meet Watford on Monday 8 August at The Hawthorns live on Sky.
Watford then will host Burnley in the first meeting of two of the three teams relegated from the Premier League at end of last season, with the fixture at Vicarage Road confirmed for Friday 12 August at 8pm.
Cardiff will then host Birmingham City the following day on 13 August at 12:30pm at Cardiff City Stadium.
The first midweek round of the season across 16 and 17 August will see QPR host Blackpool and Sunderland visit Sheffield Utd on both dates respectively.
Sky will then air Millwall and Cardiff’s trips to Norwich and Bristol City on 19 and 21 August respectively.
Luton and Sheffield Utd will meet at Kenilworth Road in a live clash on Friday 26 August, with both teams looking to fight for promotion after having lost their play-off semi-finals last season.
Sunderland then host Norwich on Saturday 27 August before Watford host Middlesbrough on Tuesday 30 August, as the Hornets look to celebrate the centenary of Vicarage Road’s unveiling with a win.
Sky will conclude their opening month’s selection of Championship action at Bloomfield Road on Wednesday 31 August, as Blackpool host Blackburn Rovers.
