To further strengthen their team this summer, the Bavarians are attempting to make a move for the Serie A player.
Bayern Munich is interested in one of Chelsea’s transfer targets, handing Chelsea a setback in the market. The Bavarians are reportedly negotiating with Juventus to bring Matthjias de Ligt to the Allianz Arena.
Because Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen left Chelsea this summer, the team was compelled to search the market for a new centre-back. The Blues have named De Ligt from Juventus among the players they are interested in signing, along with Kalidou Koulibaly, Presnel Kimpembe, and Jules Kounde.
Despite having prepared a €70 million offer, it now appears that the London club’s efforts to retain the services of the former Ajax captain will not be without difficulty. Bayern Munich wants to sign the Chelsea target this summer, as Sky in Germany reported on Monday. De Ligt is also eager to join the German powerhouses, and their pursuit is very serious, with negotiations between the teams moving along quite well.
Despite this, Chelsea is reported “intensely involved” and thinks Bayern has little chance of getting the defender due to the high price. Bayern Munich may be concerned about a more than €80 million transfer fee. Thus, Juventus is willing to negotiate for that amount, with Bayern Munich potentially having an issue with a transfer fee of more than €60 million.
