Three judges of the Gauteng High Court in Johannesburg have dismissed Jacob Zuma’s attempt to revive his private prosecution of President Cyril Ramaphosa – and found that the former president’s advocate, Dali Mpofu, “sought to mislead” them in that litigation.
In a unanimous nine-page ruling, Judges Selby Baqwa, Lebogang Modiba and Mohammed Ismail said they did not believe that Zuma met the test for leave to appeal to be granted to him.
The full bench said it stood by its ruling that Zuma’s private prosecution of Ramaphosa was an abuse or process.
