A man with a license to carry a concealed handgun was in good condition Monday morning following a shootout with multiple attackers who reportedly followed him into a South Loop parking garage and opened fire, according to Chicago police.
Authorities did not provide the age of the victim or saywhat type of vehicle he had been in. But shortly after 3:30 a.m., the victim pulled into a parking lot in the 1100 block of South Delano Court, and noticed two vehicles had been following him.
Suddenly, five men exited the two vehicles, a black Jeep and a white sedan, and approached the victim with handguns, according to an online statement from Chicago police.
The victim also took out his concealed handgun, “and a shootout ensued,” police said. The five men then fled the garage in their vehicles.
According to police, the victim suffered a gunshot wound to the right leg and a graze wound to the head. Paramedics took him to Northwestern Memorial Hospital.
No arrests had been made as of Monday morning, and the shooting remains under investigation by area detectives.
