Five men were shot dead in a bloody four-hour period across the Big Apple overnight, cops said.
Melquan Cooper, 34, was blasted in the torso just after 1 a.m. on Grand Concourse near Field Place in the Fordham Heights section of the Bronx, authorities said.
Two men on motorized dirt bikes or scooters shot at Cooper and then took off, heading south on Grand Concourse, cops said.
He was rushed to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
About a half-hour earlier, a 24-year-old man was shot in the torso on Lincoln Avenue near Fulton Street in Cypress Hills, Brooklyn, cops said.
He was taken to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries, cops said.
His name has not been released pending family notification.
In Brownsville, a 29-year-old man was blasted in the left leg on Thomas S. Boyland Street near Herkimer Street around 11:10 p.m. Tuesday, cops said.
The victim, whose name also has not been released, was taken to Brookdale University Hospital Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
Back in the Bronx, a 31-year-old man was shot in the torso on East 234th Street near White Plains Road around 10:45 p.m., cops said.
The man, whose name was also not immediately released, was taken to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The first fatal shooting of the night happened around 9:15 p.m. in front of NYCHA’s Brownsville Houses on Blake Avenue, cops said.
A 26-year-old man was blasted in the chest and taken to Brookdale, where he was pronounced dead.
Cops have also not released his name pending family notification.
No arrests had been made in any of the cases as of Thursday morning, and the motive for the slayings remained unclear.
