Lambeau Field preparing for inaugural soccer match Saturday between FC Bayern Munich and Manchester City

Lambeau Field and the Green Bay Packers are preparing to welcome European soccer clubs FC Bayern Munich and Manchester City this Saturday for the first-ever soccer match at Lambeau Field.

A near-capacity crowd will enjoy the exhibition match, which begins at 6 p.m., with ESPN and ESPN Deportes broadcasting the match. Very limited tickets remain available on Ticketmaster.com. Fans from 19 different countries have purchased tickets so far, as well as fans from all 50 U.S. states, Puerto Rico, Guam and Washington, D.C.

Match attendees are reminded of Lambeau Field parking and carry-in policies. Parking for general ticket holders will be $20 cash, first-come, first-served, in the Lambeau Field parking lots. Parking lots open at 2 p.m., and gates to the stadium open at 4 p.m. Those who have never been to Lambeau Field before should note that numerous private property owners in the surrounding residential area also offer parking at varying prices. Please note that Lambeau Field is entirely cashless, with the exception of parking, which is cash-only. Free bus rides will also be available from Green Bay Metro as part of the regular Packers gameday bus routes, with routes listed on greenbaywi.gov/272/Game-Day-Routes.

As Lambeau Field follows NFL safety protocols, the carry-in policy for the soccer match will be the same as a Packers home game. Fans who have never visited Lambeau Field or are not familiar with NFL protocols should visit packers.com/lambeau-field/carry-in-policy to see the full carry-in policy. This page also makes note of specific items that are frequently found at soccer games. Fans should be aware that any flags carried in must not be attached to any poles or hard objects, should be carried in loosely and should not obstruct others’ view of the match. Additionally, obstructive or oversized banners and signs, noisemakers of any kind (including vuvuzelas) and firearms or other weapons are strictly prohibited. All attendees will use walk-through metal detectors, and no purses or bags are allowed unless they are clear bags that do not exceed 12 x 6 x 12 inches.

All individuals coming to the match, including infants, must have a ticket. International fans planning to purchase alcohol at the match must use their passports or passport card for identification, as Lambeau Field beverage vendors cannot accept international forms of ID other than a passport or passport card.

The Lambeau Field Atrium will open to ticketed fans only at noon on matchday, July 23, and fans may enjoy the Packers Hall of Fame, Packers Pro Shop and 1919 Kitchen & Tap. Exit and re-entry scanning will be offered until 2 p.m.; after 2 p.m., any ticket holder who enters will not be able to leave and re-enter the building. The Johnsonville Tailgate Village, the permanent tailgating and event structure in the stadium’s east side parking lot, will be open for ticketed and non-tickets fans alike starting at 2 p.m., with live entertainment, food and beverages and a festive tailgating atmosphere.

A wide variety of merchandise related to the match will be available in the Packers Pro Shop, including apparel items for both teams, caps, and novelty items such as drinkware, flags, pennants and soccer balls. Many of the items are available online as well, at packersproshop.com.

Lambeau Field will be open to the public for regular hours through Friday, July 22, and will be open only to ticketed guests on Saturday, July 23, before reopening for regular hours on Sunday. Lambeau Field Stadium Tours will run through Friday afternoon, and will resume again on Sunday morning beginning at 9 a.m. To book a tour and see the Packers Hall of Fame, visit packershofandtours.com.

For more information about what to expect at the match, please visit packers.com/lambeau-field/soccer. The full Lambeau Field A-Z guide can be found at packers.com/lambeau-field/lambeau-field-a-z-guide to answer any further stadium-related questions.

Leading up to matchday, both clubs will host events for fans. FC Bayern Munich will host a Fan Event featuring Club Legend Giovane Elber on Friday, July 22, from 6:30 to 8 p.m., at Hagemeister Park, 325 N. Washington St., Green Bay. Manchester City will host a free youth clinic at Titletown on Friday throughout the day between 9 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., with appearances by club legends Pablo Zabaleta and Joleon Lescott from 4:30-5:30. Though registration for the clinic is full, members of the media are welcome to stop by the football field at Titletown to capture the fun.

On Saturday, both teams will also host pregame fan activities. FC Bayern Munich will welcome fans at the FC Bayern Fanzone at the Fan Walkway on the east side of Lambeau Field near the Oneida Nation Gate from 3 to 6 p.m. on Saturday. The event will feature the Bundesliga Trophy, photo opportunities, football activations, raffles, mascots and an appearance by Elber.

Manchester City will host a pregame fan party from noon to 5 p.m. at the Tundra Trio, 900 Stadium Drive, Green Bay, including live entertainment, displaying of the Premier League Trophy, mascots and appearances by Zabaleta and Lescott. From 2:30 to 5:30 p.m., fans can also enjoy the Green Bay Fanzone with the Premier League Trophy at Titletown. Fans of both teams can also enjoy pre- and post-game ceremonies including a fireworks display.

The match is part of FC Bayern Munich’s preseason Audi Summer Tour, during which they will also stop in Washington, D.C., to play D.C. United on July 20. Before traveling to Green Bay, Manchester City will also be playing an earlier fixture on July 20 at NRG Stadium in Houston against Club América as part of their 2022/23 preseason trip in the U.S. This will be the second meeting between the clubs on U.S. territory after Man City defeated FCB 3-2 on July 28, 2018, at Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium in an International Champions Cup match.

The Packers organization partnered with Cardenás Marketing Network (CMN), an award-winning touring, booking, sports and multicultural marketing agency, to bring the exhibition match, also referred to as a friendly, to Green Bay. Lambeau Field, the longest-tenured stadium in the NFL, has hosted a variety of non-Packers events over the last decade, including concerts and a college football matchup.

  • Members of the media who would like to capture the preparations at Lambeau Field are advised of the following:
  • Field painting is set to take place Thursday afternoon around 1:15 p.m.
  • Goal load-in and other sideline prep will begin Friday morning at 5:30 a.m., with the second goal expected to be placed around 7 a.m.
  • Those who would like to capture these preparations are asked to coordinate with Katie Hermsen at hermsenk@packers.com.
  • Approved media may pick up their credentials on Friday between 9 a.m. and 8 p.m. at the Packers Ticket Office on the northeast side of the building, adjacent to the Miller Lite Gate.
  • Beginning at 3:30 p.m. on Friday, approved media may enter at the Fleet Farm Gate on the southwest side of the building to attend press conferences with team personnel in the Lambeau Field media auditorium. FC Bayern Munich will host a press conference featuring Head Coach Julian Nagelsmann and a player at 4:30 p.m., followed by training on Lambeau Field at 5 p.m. Media access will be allowed only for approved media, and is closed to the public. Manchester City will host a press conference featuring Head Coach Pep Guardiola and a player at 6 p.m., followed by training on Lambeau Field at 6:30 p.m. Media access will be allowed only for approved media for the first 15 minutes, and is closed to the public.
  • On matchday, credential pickup will begin at 3 p.m. at Media Will Call on the south end of the stadium.
  • All media must show a photo ID to pick up credentials. Media must be present to receive credentials. A limited amount of game day parking passes are available and will be distributed during accreditation hours on a first-come first-served basis on Friday, July 22.
