Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has attacked the Coalition’s refusal to support its more ambitious 43 per cent emission reduction target, telling the Opposition that it needs to “mature a bit”.
Mr Albanese hit out at the Coalition’s concerns the target would become a tax on all Australians and that Labor was acquiescing to the Greens.
“They need to basically mature a bit,” he said.
“I say to all those who are thinking of voting against this legislation, that’s a matter for them. We’ll get on and implement the policy, which we don’t need to legislate for.”
