Spending some quality time with yourself or a partner is a great way to pass the time, but they don’t call it the heat of the moment for nothing. Sex during a heat wave can be kind of miserable, so here’s what you do: Find the coolest, darkest room in your home, get a big fan, point it right at yourself (or you and your partner), and that’s when you get started. It’s why we’ve put together a list of the best deals on sex toys and big, powerful tower fans, so you can have some calming cool-down time without overheating.

As a household with chronic allergies, we’ve had just about every generation of Dyson’s purifying fans, and this one is still one of my favorites. It doesn’t have all the advanced features you’ll find on the newer Dyson fans, but it’s much cheaper, produces surprisingly powerful air currents, and purifies while it cools you down.
Nothing like a good old Vornado tower fan. They’re inexpensive, but pack a punch and can absolutely fill an entire room with breezy air currents to help you stay cool during these unprecedented heat waves.

Satisfyer’s Curvy air pulse toys are some of my personal favorites. They’re super soft, squishy, and really easy to hold when you’re using one with yourself or a partner. It’s not the most powerful toy on this list—the suction is about what I’d call the middle of the road—which is perfect if you or your partner(s) have sensitive erogenous zones.
This one is a modern classic. It’s a straightforward air pulse stimulator, and the silicone mouth surrounds any small erogenous area while providing a tapping/sucking sensation similar to receiving oral stimulation.
I’m a big fan of harness briefs. They’re comfy to wear, you can use them to hold on to a variety of toys, or even use them as pocket briefs for a packer. Plus, they’re way easier to slip on and off than a traditional straps-and-buckles harness.
Lovehoney’s basic massage wand is a wonderful addition to any sex toy collection, whether it’s the first or the fiftieth addition. It has a soft silicone outer body that’s nice and grippy, but still feels good on your skin. The vibration is pretty powerful, so there’s definitely an intensity setting here for just about anyone. The broad head makes it great for a variety of uses with a variety of erogenous zones. It’s one of my top picks for anyone looking to pick up a sex toy for the first time (or the first time in a long time).
Lelo’s Hugo anal vibrator has been on our Best Sex Tech list since the very beginning, and for good reason. It’s versatile, well-built, and curved to hit the p-spot. You don’t have to have a p-spot to enjoy it though; it’s just a great all-around vibrating plug. Plus, it includes a motion-controlled remote control for lots of fun partner play.
Lelo’s Enigma pulls double duty as an air pulse stimulator and internal vibrator. It’s a great pick for anyone with a vulva looking for dual stimulation. It’s super solid, and the silicone outer shell is very smooth and takes to any water-based lube really well.
Lelo’s Sona Cruise is a cute little thing, and also on our Best Sex Tech roundup. It’s a small suction toy with a wide mouth, perfect for delivering stimulation to small erogenous zones. Its size makes it discreet for travel and easy to handle, and its curved body fits perfectly into your hand no matter how you’re holding it.
