Slap on the wrist: SCA to hear appeal asking for fresh hearings for teachers who assaulted children

Section27 will partially appeal the High Court’s judgement in the Supreme Court of Appeal on 26 February.

Section27 wants fresh hearings for two teachers who assaulted children, as it believes they received lenient sanctions and could continue teaching.

The public interest law centre has approached the Supreme Court of Appeal (SCA) to partly appeal a judgment by the Gauteng High Court in Pretoria.

The SCA is expected to hear the matter on Monday.
