Crystal Palace secured a 3-0 win over Burnley in Oliver Glasner’s first game in charge of the club.
Goals from Chris Richards, Jordan Ayew and Matheus Franca gave the Eagles all three points.
Here are Edmund Brack’s player ratings from Selhurst Park:
SAM JOHNSTONE – 6
Had zero shots on target to save, so Johnstone’s rating is more based on the lack of involvement he had in the match.
Recorded no saves, punches or claims, which is more a daming indictment of the lack of creativity ability boasted by Burnley.
DANIEL MUNOZ – 7
Linked up well with Jefferson Lerma in the second half to force a corner.
Had two shots, completed two dribbles and made four blocks. A really shrewd signing who has fitted in extremely well.
JOEL WARD – 6
Solid job in a centre-back role and allowed Munoz to push higher up the pitch.
Won five ariel battles – the most of any of Palace’s defence.
JOACHIM ANDERSEN – 7
Superb switch of play with his right foot for Munoz in the early part of the first half.
Played 14 long passes and had the confidence to look for Munoz or Mitchell getting forward.
CHRIS RICHARDS – 8
Great connection with his header to open the scoring and his Crystal Palace account.
The USA international had the best pass percentage – 92 – of any Palace player and also completed three tackles.
TYRICK MITCHELL – 8
The left wing-back put a dangerous cross along the face of goal in the 17th minute, which forced Mazime Esteve to put the ball behind for a corner.
Did well to stop Lorenz Assignon from putting a cross in midway through the first half.
Got forward well and always looked to join in on the attack.
JEFFERSON LERMA – 8
Got Brownhill sent off in the 34th minute after pouncing on a poor pass from James Trafford in front of the box.
Took aim from the edge of the box in the 46th minute straight at Trafford.
The Colombian international dominated the midfield battle, winning 11 aerial battles and was not dispossessed once.
ADAM WHARTON – 7
Lovely switch of play to find Mitchell on the left-hand side in the opening stages of the game.
Played a beautiful left-footed cross to find Edouard at the back post as James Tarfford made a great save to keep the scoreline level.
Curled a left-footed shot just wide before the hour mark.
JORDAN AYEW – 8
Nice burst and run forward in the seventh minute to try and find Mateta in the box, but his pass was just over-hit.
Won a free-kick in a dangerous area in the second half after being brought down by Wilson Odobert.
Excellent run and cross in the 62nd minute that just missed Mitchell at the back post.
Took his goal really well – sliding in at the back post to meet Franca’s low cross.
JEAN-PHILIPPE MATETA – 7
Hunted Trafford into a mistake for Brownhill’s red card.
Chased the ball down really well during the second half.
Took his penalty well, taking his goal contribution tally to 12 for the season.
ODSONNE EDOUARD – 6
Forced a top save from Trafford before the half-hour mark.
Sent a free-kick just over Trafford’s crossbar in the first half after Brownhill was sent off.
SUBS
NAOUIROU AHAMADA – 7
Forced a save from Trafford with his first involvement in the game.
Won the corner in the phase of play that saw Palace open the scoring.
MATHEUS FRANCA – 8
Lovely ball along the face of goal for Ayew’s second and won a penalty minutes later when he forced Vitinho into a clumsy challenge.
Very strong impact off the bench.
