Firefighters have managed to contain the fire that broke out on Friday night on the mountain slopes of Devil’s Peak in Cape Town.
According to Lauren Howard Clayton, the Regional Communications Manager for the Cape Region at South African National Parks (SANParks) the fire was classified as contained at about 21:40 on Friday night, with wind variable and hot spots. Fire crews remain at the scene.
Earlier, it was reported that strong winds were raising the intensity of the blaze.
