Such is the rivalry between the Los Angeles Lakers and Boston Celtics. In fact, it’s the greatest rivalry in the history of the NBA – if not American sports in general.
Throughout the 1960s and 1980s, these teams met in the NBA Finals on countless occasions. In recent years, it’s become a less common occurrence.
Still, the bitter feelings between these two organizations and fanbases remain.

With that context in mind, the two sides could struggle to strike a deal. At the same time, the NBA is a big business – feelings have to be put aside. If a trade suited both teams’ mutual interests, they’d have to make it.
Whether this deal that sends Anthony Davis to the Boston Celtics does so or not is a matter of debate.
