A former principal is optimistic that he will get his job back after the Cape Town Labour Court ruled that his application to review an arbitration award, which confirmed his dismissal, should be reinstated for a hearing.
Wesley Neumann, the former headmaster of Heathfield High School, was dismissed by the Western Cape Department of Education on 20 May 2022 after being found guilty of five charges of misconduct.
These charges included defying an instruction to open his school during the Covid-19 pandemic.
