At least 70 people have reportedly been confirmed dead in flash floods in Turkey. Some 47 persons have been reported missing due to the floods. The floods last week swept across Turkish Black Sea provinces, according to authorities.
The floods destroyed buildings and bridges, closed roads and damaged electricity infrastructure, reports say. Reports say some six individuals died as a result of floods in Kastamonu province.
Additionally, nine people died in Sinop and one in Bartin, the Disaster and Emergency Management Directorate (AFAD) of Turkey, announced on Monday, August 16, 2021.
