Parliament adopts report of Adhoc Committee that probed IGP leaked tape
Parliament has adopted the report of the Adhoc Committe set up to probe the tape recording on which some police officers and former Northern Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bugri Naabu, were caught plotting to oust the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Dr George Akuffo Dampare.
The Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin tasked the Clerk of the House to forward it to President Akufo-Addo for onward action.

Investigations by Speaker Bagbin’s committee concluded that there was an attempt by CoP Alex Mensah, Supt Asare and Supt Gyebi to conspire and cause the removal of the IGP for which they, solicited the assistance of Chief Bugri Naabu to have the President act in that regard.
Parliament approved the report on July 10.
