The Chinese University of Hong Kong’s governing body has appointed Kenneth Chen Wei-on, a former secretary general of the city’s Legislative Council, as the institution’s vice-president on a three-year term after a meeting dedicated to considering his role.
A source told the Post that Chen, 59, did not receive a unanimous vote for his appointment.
Nonetheless, as vice-president, he will be responsible for the varsity’s administration, including public affairs and liaison with different stakeholders including the government, campus management other institutions.
